Fries shop

A fries shop that keeps moving, even on a Friday night.

Sauce, portion, extras — customers pick it all themselves on screen. Your staff stay at the fryer, not at the order pad. The line moves faster and your average ticket goes up.

Pijnpunten

Waar je elke dag tijd verliest.

Friday night jams up at the counter

One person taking orders, keying them in and cashing out can only handle so many customers per hour. During the rush the line stalls while the kitchen is ready to keep going. Customers walk away, and your staff work under constant pressure.

Spoken orders, forgotten sauces

A big bicky with tartar and mayo, a frikandel speciaal, two small fries with curry. Relaying that verbally to a busy counter clerk goes wrong sooner or later. Every mistake is a remade order, a comped ticket and a frustrated customer.

Nobody upsells an extra on their own anymore

At a busy counter, nobody spontaneously suggests an extra sauce, soft drink or dessert — the focus is on speed. That's exactly where your margin sits. On a night with 200 customers it quickly adds up to hundreds of euros.

Solution

How Upvendo solves it.

Customers order themselves on the kiosk

Snacks, fries, sauces, drinks. The customer picks what they want, chooses their portion and pays on the kiosk. The order prints straight to the kitchen printer, just like a counter order. Your staff can keep frying.

Sauce and portion right on screen

For every snack or fries portion, the right sauce choice appears in the right order. A customer can't skip an option — the system won't let the order through without it. No verbal noise, no "which sauce did you say again?"

Automatic upselling at the right moment

After the main choice, the kiosk suggests a sauce, a drink or a dessert. No pressure — one extra screen before the payment step. Configurable in your POS, so you decide what does and doesn't get suggested.

Natively connected to your POS

MplusKassa, Lightspeed or Vectron — the order comes in as if your staff had keyed it in themselves. No second system, no menu to maintain twice. Change a price in MplusKassa and it's right on the kiosk within seconds.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Does this work for a small fries shop or do you have to be a chain?

It works for both. For a small fries shop, a single kiosk is already enough to keep the Friday-night rush flowing without hiring an extra person. For larger venues we typically place two to three kiosks next to the counter.

Which POS works best in a fries shop?

MplusKassa is by far the most used POS in Flemish and Dutch fries shops, and our integration with it is native. Lightspeed and Vectron work natively too. For other POS systems we look at the options case by case.

How will customers react? My regulars are older.

In practice, even older customers have the flow figured out after one order. The kiosk UI is built for quick tapping, not for smartphone experience. For anyone who prefers ordering at the counter, that option always stays open.

What about loyalty stamp cards?

You manage loyalty through your POS. The kiosk passes the order along, the POS applies the loyalty rules. You don't have to buy a separate loyalty tool.
